The Lenten Season: Making Room for What Matters Most
Posted by KP BY DESIGNS LLC Admin on
Every year during the Lenten Season, I choose to give up something I tend to indulge in, something that quietly consumes my time and attention. This practice isn’t just about sacrifice; it’s about creating space. Space to grow. Space to reflect. Space to become the version of myself I’m striving toward once the season is over.

One of the ways I stay grounded during this time is by journaling. I write about what I want to see in my life, what I hope to accomplish, and how these intentional choices might shape me long after the season ends. It’s amazing how much clarity comes when we slow down long enough to listen to our own thoughts.
Let me give you an example. I absolutely love watching YouTube: gardening channels, cooking shows, crafting tutorials… you name it. But one day, I decided to calculate how much time I was actually spending in front of the TV. Friends, it added up to seven hours. Seven hours! That was a wake‑up call.
Those same hours could have been poured into projects I’ve been putting off: organizing my closets, refreshing my craft room, or simply making more intentional time for prayer. It made me realize that sometimes the things we enjoy can quietly distract us from the things that truly nourish us.
So this Lenten Season, I’m choosing differently.
And now I want to hear from you.
Friends, what are you giving up for Lent? What are you hoping to gain in return peace, clarity, discipline, joy?
Share your thoughts with me. I love hearing your stories, and your journey inspires mine.
Until we meet again, remember: God loves you, and so do I.
Love Always, Karen
